A Love Story Written Across the Hills of North Bengal
Some pre-wedding photographs are beautiful because of the location. Some are memorable because of the clothes, the light or the way a photograph is composed. But every once in a while, there is a pre-wedding story where the photographs feel special simply because the couple themselves bring something different into every frame.
Ankita and Amit’s three-day North Bengal pre-wedding shoot was one such story.

Ankita, from Krishnanagar, and Amit, from Kalyani, travelled with us to the hills of North Bengal in August 2025, taking their pre-wedding photography beyond the familiar city landscapes and into misty forests, mountain viewpoints, winding roads, tea gardens and quiet lakes.
Over three days, our four-member photography and cinematography team travelled through some of the most picturesque locations around Lava, Lolegaon and the surrounding North Bengal hills. The result was not just a collection of photographs—it became a visual journey through different moods of their relationship.
From the soft, natural chemistry between the two of them to the dramatic cinematic frames in the pine forests, every location brought out a different side of Ankita and Amit.
From Green Tea Gardens to Misty Mountain Roads
The beauty of a North Bengal pre-wedding shoot lies in its variety.
Within the same trip, the visual atmosphere can change completely—from lush green landscapes and open skies to fog-covered forests and deep, moody shadows. For Ankita and Amit, this gave us the opportunity to create a story that never felt repetitive.

At locations around Ambiok View Point and the surrounding mountain roads, the couple appeared in a much more natural and relaxed setting. Their lighter outfits worked beautifully against the greenery and misty mountain backdrop. Instead of heavily posed photographs, these frames focused on simple interactions—walking together, looking into the distance and enjoying the journey.
One of the most charming elements of their shoot was how naturally they interacted with each other. Amit’s playful energy and Ankita’s softer expressions created a comfortable chemistry that allowed us to photograph them without forcing every moment.
Sometimes the most beautiful pre-wedding photographs happen between the planned poses.
A Touch of Bengal in the Hills
The journey continued through locations such as Sevoke Coronation Bridge and roadside waterfalls, where the landscape itself became part of the story.
The couple’s lighter, casual styling complemented these locations particularly well. The soft tones of their outfits blended naturally with the green surroundings, while the flowing fabric of Ankita’s saree added movement to the photographs.
These were the kind of photographs that felt less like a traditional studio-style pre-wedding shoot and more like two people travelling together.
And that was important to us.
A good pre-wedding photograph should not only show what a couple looks like. It should give you a sense of how they are together.
When the Forest Became Their Cinematic Stage
Then came the transformation.
For the more cinematic part of the shoot, Ankita stepped into a striking red gown, while Amit wore a sophisticated black formal ensemble. Against the tall pine trees and mist-covered forest of Lava, the colour combination created an entirely different visual language.
The deep black of Amit’s outfit disappeared naturally into the darker forest tones, while Ankita’s vibrant red gown became the visual centre of the frame.
The result was dramatic without losing the romantic quality of the photographs.
The Lava Pine Forest offered an almost cinematic atmosphere—tall trees, diffused mountain light, layers of mist and a quietness that made the couple appear as though they had stepped into a completely different world.
The long flowing train of Ankita’s red gown added another dimension to the photographs. In several frames, the movement of the fabric created a sense of motion against the stillness of the forest.
This contrast—red against blue-green mist and dark pine trees—became one of the strongest visual elements of their North Bengal pre-wedding story.
Soft Romance at Lava Monastery and the Hills
The shoot also took us to Lava Monastery, Dubling View Point and Nokdara Lake, where the visual mood became softer and more intimate.
Here, the landscape played a quieter role.
Instead of dramatic poses, we focused more on closeness, expressions and small interactions between Ankita and Amit. Their chemistry was particularly easy to capture because they did not need to constantly look at the camera.
A glance, a smile, a hand placed gently on the shoulder or simply standing together against the mountains could tell enough of their story.
This is also where the variety in their styling became important.
The casual outfits in lighter shades worked beautifully against the misty greens and pale mountain backgrounds. The softer colours kept the photographs airy and natural, while the darker outfits used later created a stronger cinematic contrast.
From Daylight Romance to an Evening Mood
One of the advantages of spending three complete days on a North Bengal pre-wedding shoot is the opportunity to photograph the same couple under completely different lighting conditions.
The daytime photographs had a soft, airy and natural quality.
The evening photographs were different.
Ankita and Amit changed into darker, more contemporary outfits, creating a more intimate atmosphere. Against the darker surroundings, their expressions and interactions became the primary focus of the photographs.
A simple moment of sitting together with cups in their hands became unexpectedly romantic. It felt personal rather than posed—almost like a small moment from their life that happened to be photographed.
That balance between grand cinematic frames and quiet everyday moments became one of the defining characteristics of their shoot.
Lolegaon: Ending the Journey Surrounded by Nature
The final part of the journey took us towards Lolegaon Eco Park, adding yet another visual character to the story.
The natural surroundings gave us opportunities for wider environmental photographs as well as closer portraits. After travelling through viewpoints, forests, lakes and mountain roads, the final frames felt like a continuation of their journey rather than simply another location on a checklist.
And perhaps that is what made this three-day pre-wedding shoot memorable.
It was never just about visiting as many locations as possible.
It was about using each location to create a different chapter.
A Three-Day Production Behind the Story
Creating a pre-wedding film and photography story across North Bengal requires more than simply carrying a camera and travelling from one location to another.
For Ankita and Amit’s shoot, our four-member team worked across three days, handling both photography and cinematography.
For the cinematic video production, we used a Canon R8, while the still photography was captured with a Nikon Z6 II. A drone was also part of the production, allowing us to capture the scale of the North Bengal landscape from above.
This combination helped us move between intimate couple portraits, wide environmental photographs, cinematic moving shots and aerial perspectives.
The equipment was important, but the real challenge was bringing all of these elements together without losing the natural chemistry of the couple.
More Than a Pre-Wedding Shoot
Looking back at Ankita and Amit’s North Bengal pre-wedding story, what stands out most is not one particular location or one particular outfit.
It is the variation.
A misty mountain road.
A quiet tea garden.
The historic Sevoke Coronation Bridge.
A roadside waterfall.
The peaceful surroundings of Lava Monastery.
Tall pine trees disappearing into fog.
The still waters of Nokdara Lake.
And finally, the greenery of Lolegaon.
Each place gave their story a different mood.
And Ankita and Amit adapted naturally to every one of them—from soft and effortless daytime portraits to dramatic red-and-black cinematic frames deep inside the pine forest.
That is what we love about pre-wedding photography at LMP Weddings: creating photographs that do not simply show a couple, but remember a journey, a mood and a feeling.
For Ankita and Amit, that journey happened across three beautiful days in North Bengal—and their photographs will always carry a little bit of those hills with them.
